Just checking EGR today, noticed that this pipe was tucked away near injectors, not connected to anything? is this correct, engine running fine, no smoke etc, any thoughts please.

The one at front of photo, I pulled it out from near injectors, it goes onto bottom of the valve thingy

if it`s the one by the rear of the engine it should have a small green pcv 1 way valve on it mine had broken at the valve,
look at the air filter box and check the thick air hose that goes towards the rear of the engine, and you can see where a pipe was meant to be connected on the top part maybe sheared off but it connects from there to the pcv valve and to the part you are showing.

i repaired mine but i have no idea what it does nor did it make any difference to the running on or off :D
hope this helps

Cheers  it has never been connected since engine was fitted over a year ago, so does that mean the egr is not operating? I was going to disconect it anyway :?:

hi peter do not know if it is anything to do with the egr
mine connects to the air intake system only noticed mine when i went to block off the egr,
but if it`s been running right for a year without it say no more

if it ain`t broke don`t fix it as my great lamented grandad said
or in this case it is broke still don`t fix it
