				SUMP PLUG

Does anybody know where I can get a new sump plug from? I managed to get my old one off today in order to drain the oil - took some doing I can tell you!!
The nut is OK, but slightly rounded and I'm just thinking ahead to next time when I change the oil again.
I went to Halfords today and picked one off the shelf that looked the same. I've tried to screw it in, finger tight - it goes on, but then jams straight away. It may well be the right size, but I dont want to risk it with a spanner incase I wreck the sump.
Does anybody know the right part no and associated thread dimentions - oh, and somewhere I can get it tomorrow!
Thanks,
JTR

It does sound like the wrong thread doesn't it?
If your "proper" sump plug is only slightly rounded off, a six-sided socket should still work it OK - just don't do an impression of King Kong when tightening it

Frnaco is right, I always use a general rule of thumb, i know my nuts are over tight when i get to this stage.

Sorry I can't be of any help, slowly getting pished whilst cooking kebabs.

One way to check the thread is to find a nut that will freely thread onto it. Then back to Halfords with the nut etc etc........

That's OK if you've got large nuts!

If ever there was a need for MC HAMMER trousers. "Can't touch this"
My nut was slightly rounded so I used a Six sided socket. The nut was V tight and was poss because there was no washer or PTFE tape around the thread

The washers I had left over from the Ulysse fitted:-
