Hi one of the roof closure warning micro switches has gone on our bongo so the dash board roof closure light is on all the time. I can not see how to get the old one out, the wires are too short to just pull out and connect a new one.
Any ideas?

I'm interested in this one TC as my Bongo has had its flashing light on from when I bought it . Intend to fix it some time but - despite advice on BF - I haven't got my head around which which is faulty and causes the warning light to stay on. People have said to me just get a microswitch from Maplins, but not being good at all that stuff I wouldn't know what to order or how to fit it!!! I'll watc this thread with interest and god luck.

I would imagine it's the one on the nearside that operates the light. My light hasn't worked since I bought the Bongo, but I suspect that's a blown bulb.
Some while ago I raised the roof to check it out, and when I lowered it again the beeper wouldn't stop. That turned out to be the offside microswitch. As a "temporary" repair (to shut it up!) I disconnected the wires to the microswitch and joined them together with an insulated joint. I really will get round to replacing the microswitch one day, honest.

Now the bad news.

The nearside microswitch is much harder to get at as the wiring is completely hidden. I couldn't see how to get at that one without removing the roof!

Mine is also the nearside front switch. I think there are actually four on the roof? I did get it working for a short while with wd40 but that no longer works.

There are two more (at least) microswitches further back, but I think these relate to the actual closing of the roof. I think they operate when the roof is partially closed, so that you have to press the close button again to lower it the last bit.

I read somewhere on BF about sticking a bit of fag packet somewhere in order to stop the flashing. Must investigate it sometime (a la moonshine - I'll do it.....manana)
