Swapped stereo & climate control

Started playing with the stereo today to see if I could get the backlight to work (no luck there) & ended up swapping the stereo & climate control units so at least I can see what I'm doing with the stereo's fiddly buttons & memory cards as the slot is on the furthest side from the driver. At least the climate control buttons & display are nice & clear. Took an hour or so with a bit of bloody knuckles, wiring looms are just long enough, a couple of minor "modifications" to two bits of plastic et voila

I am the same as you Platty in more ways than one. Started off in life training as a plasterer under my father, a master. Gave it up after 3½ years to go to college and ended up a Chartered Architect. When it comes to my Bongo I am more than useless. So I'm comming down to Wigan next week so that Rooster can sort out my alarms and Wheelquick my silicone hoses, service and MOT.

Darn it I just went and bought and installed a stereo with a remote control and all I had to do was swap the stereo for the climate control unit. Tee hee.

Hi
Whilst on the subject of aircon, is it possible to get a second hand digital fascia, and swap the control system for a manual ( along with any servos and motors etc )?

Hi Kirsty,
Thanks for the reply. It's something I will consider. Tony likes the digital type....men and buttons....I don't mind fiddling with "Stuff" behind dashboards, trim, etc., but these days Tony does the minor mechanicals, and the major stuff gets farmed out to various sources according to the skill level needed. We're just getting a bit too old. Lots of plans for things to do next year.
Happy New Year

Kirsty, thanks for the tip
I just did this today
a healthy dose of something I chose to listen to on the way home was wonderful
the smiles are getting bigger all the time
No problem at all with bruised knuckles for me (I got the nice man from Arg*s free fitting service to take care of it while he put the new hi-fi in

).
