Marquee Hire

The cheapest large marquee I can find for the full week is around £750. Anyone any ideas about cheaper sources?

And, no, I don't want to join up a load of plastic gazebos if I can help it, I want a proper heavy duty canvas marquee, at least 10 metres by 8 metres.

You've probably tried these, http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

No better idea except looking at the cost of buying one, I'm sure there would be volunteers to erect/drop it.

Ahhh, the link hasn't worked too well, I Google maped 'Marquee hire - Near - Worcester'.

Came up with the local firms.

These people http://www.allaboutmarquees.co.uk/marquees.htm do a 7.3m x 12m for £640, but that doesn't include delivery and erection.

Sometimes local scout groups/voluntary groups hire their's out for a fee. Maybe someone has got contacts for that?

Problem is delivering, collecting setting up and removing is labour intensive, this is where buying and having the rabble set up/take down could be cost effective. Suppliers also have to pay massive insurance to cover the Compo Society.

One of our cycle clubs owns a tent of the right size for an annual event only, for those reasons. (No, we can't rent it out, for the same reasons),

But worth looking into buying.

Re: Marquee another company to try.

Ian, I visited Snowdens Marquee hire company of Peterborough and made some enq's, the man there gave me this contact, but i haven't had time today to call them, this is the name and tel No. Cotswold &Stour Marquees.
01608 686 900
the man from suggested them as they 'do' small jobs, and if they can't be of assistance maybe they can suggest another.
good luck J and J :D

All sorted now! Many thanks for all your suggestions. I had to go for a large plastic marquee in the end, but very reasonably priced from http://www.castlefieldmarquees.co.uk of Solihull.

Is it bought or rented (no pun...)?
