Rear foglight in the light cluster
For those septics that said it couldn't be done
Thanks to Responder59 & Nevetts for the info on how to do it

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Think I'll have to get my crowbar out and "borrow" that lamp unit

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
Nice one but does it carry an approval mark on the lens and is it 100mm from the stoplight? an eagle eyed or "just got my MOT ticket and out to prove a point" tester would knock it back

That's great Kirsty, i might do the two on mine!
I'm probably wrong, but i thought vehicles were legally required to have two reflectors on the back..?
I could always get those stick on ones...

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
Hi Kirsty, looks good. I didn't have a fog light on mine when I bought it,so it failed its last m.o.t. on this exact thing. The m.o.t. tester told me that he could remove 1 of the reverse bulbs and replace it with a red fog light bulb and wire it to the fog light switch to suit!! Took him 30 minutes and charged an extra £20 on top off the m.o.t., Sorted!! Lee.

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
Kirsty i was thinkin of makin my rear o/s reverse light as a fog light
i asked mike at wheelquick and he said chop block from reverse light and simply connect fog light wireing to it oh and put a red bulb in
so thats my next project

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
I'm trusting Nevets on this one - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 04#p213904 - I used a bulbholder from an astra I thinkdandywarhol wrote:Nice one but does it carry an approval mark on the lens and is it 100mm from the stoplight? an eagle eyed or "just got my MOT ticket and out to prove a point" tester would knock it back
Worst case scenario is that I have to change it to the reverse light, I was going to ask at the mot place, but thought it better not to draw attention to it & see what happens when the time comes

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
I supose if it don't scan fer an MOT you could do the other side, rewire to the tail & have em both as extra stop lights?missfixit70 wrote:I'm trusting Nevets on this one - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 04#p213904 - I used a bulbholder from an astra I thinkdandywarhol wrote:Nice one but does it carry an approval mark on the lens and is it 100mm from the stoplight? an eagle eyed or "just got my MOT ticket and out to prove a point" tester would knock it back

Now theres an idea!
Actually, i may have a problem with the switch next MOT?
I have a mazzy rear fog switch on the top bank (back lit like the rest) but i added a small LED so it's back lit blue when it's on...
Does anyone know if that's approved, of should it have a more definitive on light?
The one in the middle isolates the front spots...

Re: Rear foglight in the light cluster
Good news is it passed the mot without any problems (other than a brake light that worked after a thump ) , I asked the guy if the fog light was ok, he was perfectly happy with it, not even a grey area as far as he's concerned. I think I've got a couple of the lamp holders lurking in the garage if anyone wants them at the Wookey, Daffy or Brokerswed meets? Don't want owt for them.
His only comment while he was checking it out underneath was "someone's spent some time & money on this" was I wrong to feel a little bit smug?
