Bongo Fury

The rear door gas struts on our Bongo need re-gassing - hopefully not replacing. Read about SGS Engineering in Derby, under Techie Stuff. Does anyone know if there's a NW firm which does that work? If not, I'll ring SGS, as it's probably not worth a trip down to Poole to get it fixed under Imperial's warranty.

No need for a trip as they are easy to remove and post off - you can use a length of broom handle to prop the tailgate open until some replacements arrive.

SGS are about the only place I've been able to find that does the work.

Thanks scanner. Looks like you're right. They're the only people who turn up in Techie Stuff threads about gas struts, and I just tried "re-gassing gas struts" on Google - same result there. See they offer a next day return service too. I'll call them tomorrow.

I'd approach Imperial first though if it is under warranty.

Maybe they'll pay the bill if they don't want the hassle of swapping them out themselves.

I agree. They are a quality firm doing a quality product at a quality price. If they need doing, they ought to cover the cost of them going over to SGS and being regaseed. Your offering to do the legwork for them should be a bonus. Give 'em a call

Scanner and Mike, thanks. Yes, forgot to say I will also talk to Imperial first,of course. There's a few things I need to raise with them, including an LPG metering fault which I've still got under observation (unsure yet whether it's tank, sensor or meter -most likely the sensor), so I'll probably hang fire until I'm a.) sure of my facts on that one, and b.) have had more opportunity to run all systems in action.

No probs. Imperial are held in very high esteem on here and I'm sure they will be pleased to keep it that way
