Bongo Fury

A couple of times i have heard that people have said their Low Coolant alarm has stuttered at cold temperatures on starting, and initial running, or some have hardly worked.
I can say that it works at any temperature the Bongo will run , and no hint of reduction in the beep. I tried starting the Bongo this morning, and the block / head temperature showing on the TM2 was minus 8 Celcius....the Bongo failed to start. I checked, and the temperature had been down to at least minus 15, and the diesel had frozen . A wait of 4 hours, and the engine started first flick. I had the same problem last year, but refrained from comment, as the battery was on it's way out!
In conclusion, if you have a problem with the beep, check all your connections, or maybe the battery is getting old

Had the fuel waxed in the tank Helen? Was it the old "start a bonfire under the tank" scenario?

Yes, the fuel had waxed...the engine turned and fired , but died instantly, as I tried 3 times and I suspected that it would be O.K. in the afternoon....last year i had to wait several days!!!

noticed it once
a few days ago

turned ignition on instead of the couple of seconds beep as normal
the beep lasted about 5 seconds and tapered off sounding a bit poorly
once everything had warmed up a bit twas back to normal

One good thing about the cold is it makes the alarm more sensitive.
That's why it grumbles & growls and tries to come on.

As the coolant gets colder it must become less conductive.

Winter diesel is pretty good over here...we don't get too many problems....if it's too cold and icy I don't go out.....it's not my driving I worry about, .....it's the average Bulgarian clown over here...P****D out of their heads on rakiya, and driving too fast, or overtaking on corners is normal....I expect you're getting used to Eastern European driving in the UK, now.
It might be a good idea to pop some of that treatment in your tank in England....reported night- time lows more than minus 15 C. by the look of things!!!

True...less than minus 15....slip of the tongue....we're rushing round here....impending guests ...panic
My weather reports for the UK are changing minute by minute...they don't get anything right
Ice road truckers probably know how to drive.....Bulgarian Truckers don't.....We also get a lot of Turkish truckers over here...They are on a mission from Allah to destroy anyone in their path.......Believe me.....they will try to drive you into a ditch!!!!!!!
