Bongo Fury

Hi to all of you.

I have just bought a 1996 Bongo ( think its the 4wd one) picking it up tomorrow.

thing is - I normally ride a motorbike in pretty much all weathers but will have to use the Bongo on occaisions when the weather is too bad for two wheels. I know that the Bongo that I have bought has not been undersealed etc.......but I want to give it the chance of surviving another 10 years and in this weather - it just will not.

Any idea's of the best way to protect it in our horrid climate andcosts? I'm not a DIY'er and not mechanical at all so will have to pay to get it done.

Most people use Waxoil and prices vary considerably between places that do it - £150-£200 seems a reasonable estimate. Hopefully someone from your area will be along with a bit of knowledge of local businesses.

Welcome to the forum As Franco said, most tend to use waxoyl or dinitrol, may be worth giving Allans in Plymouth a shout, he's a forum member & his other half Doone is a moderator on here, give them a pm.
If you want to do it yourself, strip out spare wheel, wheeel arch liners, engine cover etc, make sure it's spotlessly clean & dry underneath, treat any areas that may already be rusty, dilute the waxoyl well with white spirit, spray it on (& in box sections, etc), protect yourself & the driveway or garage with stuff that can be slung away after, it gets everywhere It's a horrible job, but worth doing or getting someone else to do

Definitely worth getting somebody else to do it! £60 - £80 at wheelquick depending on amount of prep required.
