The rust is on the front offside wing,on the narrow bit as it goes down past the door.Sorry not able to show a photo, don`t know how to download one!(bit thick on that). You see a weld
there or a seam. That`s where the bit of rust is,seems to be in the seam.I tried to repair it
myself but it reappeared. #-o

Hmmmm. I had a serious rust hole on the nearside, just behind front wheel arch and where the cill box section was welded to a cross member. Wheelquick in Wigan made up a very nice plate and did a beaut. job welding it over the bad area so it could pass MOT. My guess is the job as as or more solid than original and will outlast the vehicle.

If you get a chance to take pics and post them on here, we could discuss further? But for now:

Don't panic, Don't panic

Hi Mike,if someone could tell me how to put a pic here to show you I would be happy to do so
The seam is in the wing itself where it shows the rusty bit. It`s higher up than the cill, about
a foot.thanks.

I do it by creating an account on Photobucket (you'll find that very
useful so worth the little effort involved in setting up an account, then uploading the pics from your PC is not hard). Then, in Photobucket, I use the 'Generate Code' facility and copy the code for Thumbnails and paste it into a post on here. Users can then see the thumbnail pic and by clicking on it they can see the fullsize pic. Like these three pics of my rust hole    :

That place and the rear wheelarches are the common "rust" spots on a bongo..
Very easy to do the bit your concerned about....Just needs cutting out and a new bit welding in....Just had mine done and presented back to me primed....sprayed it with a areosol from Ian....good as new...£35

Hiya Haydn,I misled you with the last reply, the seam on the front wing is where the rust is,
it is a foot up the wing, follow the door up from the cill and there is a welded seam. The seam
is only 2 inches or more wide.Sorry for the confusion, thanks for the photo info,I will try to
put one here asap.Thanks again,Eric.

I'm in Somerset so a long way away.
Any body shop should be able to do this job in a couple of hours....It's a easy one....Rear arches...now thats a differant story.

Thanks very much for all the info, will find a bodyshop hopefully to sort it out.I had the wheel
arches renewed at one of the bodyshops who said that he couldn`t sort out the wing!Maybe
too trivial or something,he had the motor when I asked him.Maybe going to Somerset would
sort the job! Many thanks to you all.

Mine had this too on nearside wing only, gritblasted rust and paint out then repainted, looks good but waiting to see if rust returns.
