Fitting brakes, shims missing help!

We are just in the middle of changing the arb bushes and droplinks and thought it was a good idea to change the front pads whilst the wheels are off....

Problem is the shims are missing from the back of the caliper bracket on both sides, hence the horrible rattling sound I've had for the last year..

Should they be fitted in all 4 posititions (top, bottom, back and front) or should they be fitted on one end of the pad?

I'd appreciate a speedy answer as we are running out of light!

Cheers
Steve

all 4 contact points on the pads fit into steel "shoes" which clip into the caliper, so 4 needed. also 1 steel and coated shim behind the pad on all pads

Thanks Dandy, I should have described the things I was missing a bit better, it is actually the clips which I only had 2 out of 8. I've spoken to Bongobits who kindly offered to send me some FOC, but it'll have to wait until I'm back from holiday now..
