Hows about it Boys and girls? what about a day meet?
There is quite a few of us around now I am thinking Inverness somewhere, Or has anyone else got any ideas?
Sundays are generally good for me, (before opening time though.

)I could travel between Brora and Banff.
Cheers.

Aye, up for that if I'm home from offshore. Anywhere along the Moray Riviera would be good. Plenty of interesting places up the north side of the firth too.
Top of the head list of 'possibles' - no consideration given to parking etc, just a few ideas to start the ball rolling.
Dunrobin castle
Glenmorangie Distillery
Dolphin spotting at Fortrose
Inverness itself
Fort George
Nairn
Brodie Castle
Findhorn Bay / Roseisle Beach (Maybe in the summer?)
Findhorn Foundation
Elgin area somewhere (Duffus Castle, Elgin Cathederal, Glen Moray Distillery, various other 'attractions')
Lossiemouth
Any of the coastal towns from Spey Bay to Banff - but remember the road is blocked at Cullen.
Any preferences on dates?
Only Sundays I can make so far are -
20 & 27th Dec, 31st Jan, 21 & 28th Feb, 7 & 14th March, 4th & 11th April, 9th & 16th May. - Blimey, I never realised I was going to be that busy!

Dunrobin castle (
http://www.dunrobincastle.co.uk/index.htm) has plenty of free parking, but the castle and gardens are closed to public, "Off season." On the plus side (for me) is that it's only five miles away.
Glenmorangie ( or any other distillery) ...I would need a designated driver for getting me home.
Inverness > east is fine with me, and Elgin would go down well with the wife ...... ASDA's
As for dates, just about any Sunday would do us........well.......apart from Dec 20th, as I've got a Staff "do" on the 19th, so I hold no hope of being capable of driving on the 20th.

ASDA in Elgin - shudder - did you have to mention that?
On the plus side, I could walk there.
Er, hang on, that's sort of defeating the point really....

Elgin sounds nice and its not too far for me. If I'm available I would come.
Where's Asda?

Opposite the train station, on the South side of the line.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?source=ig ... jAfR5PD3BA - That map's a bit inaccurate actually. It's the North exit on the wee roundabout to the right of the marker on the map in this link.

Any more interest in this, or is it still a bit deep, crisp and even for us all?

I'll be up in the Northern Cairgorms the last weekend of February and would be happy to take a day off from climbing/skiing to come and bash some haggis with you far northerners.

Harry, if you fancy coming back from the Cairngorms via the A7 instead of your usual boring M74 route. Then pop in for a cuppa.

Thanks Tony
I'm going up after work on the evening of 24th and staying at Kingussie.
Spending Thur - Sat Nights based at the RAF centre at Feshiebridge Lodge then heading south on Sunday evening.
I'd certainly welcome a break on the way south if you are not too far off route but it may be a bit late in the evening depending upon what the weather is like during Sunday daytime.
pm me with your phone number and address if the invite still stands.
cheers
H

Roseisle in the summer would be ace. A BBQ, game of baseball and swim/paddle in the sea. They have bbqs there so you only need to take food. Could meet at a Forres or Elgin supermarket beforehand. You can camp there overnight and they have a toilet block too.
