Nice

Approx £30.00 inc delivery from U.S looks good quality and extra features inc 12 volt no batteries to replace

shame nobody is selling this type in UK would save on postage

not sure if there would be any vat or import duty on something at this price

Blimey - that display unit looks not unlike the Haydn one you've just fitted. Is it a variation on the same basic design maybe?

I wondered about that - It has an ice warning, and does inside / outside temps, but only has 12v switched, 12v permanent and ground to hook up - so how does it do outside temps? mount it in front of the windscreen?

As it's really aimed at the bikers and as such is already outside, the temp sensor will probably be built into the unit..

That looks ab bit like the one that was posted on the Jap Bongo Group on the 6th Feb.......... it's an in/out/volts and clock
Look at the temp gauge on the Bongo panel..........and the engine is running.......

Yorkshire Pudding has one of those American units fitted to her Freda. It came with it in July.
Excellent idea as it gives a reading for the charging side of things. She has hers placed at the bottom (ish) of the cubby box nearest the gear selector. It's back lit for sure. It peeps when you put the ignition to 1st point. As for reading temp, she seems to have an extra bit on the rear wiper of her bongo. Not sure if its related, but it stopped me getting the wiper off to swap in a wiper emergency in the rain on M65 last year. Hers has the Hi/Med/Lo indicator lights in relation to battery as well.
I'll take some pics of it fitted tonite when I see her.
edit: very similar to this one. also in America.

nice unit - if there are any sparky's reading -> if you want to measure the leisure battery performance with this then could it be slightly dangerous wiring the permanent connection to the leisure battery and the ignition to the ignition 12V wire - risk of short circuit etc? I suppose it depends on whether the design has taken into account this scenario.

I can only assume that the switched live is the important one that takes the voltage readings, the constant live will just be to maintain memory features and feed the clock

As promised.
Here are the pics of the American version fitted.
As I said earlier, this was already fitted to the Freda when she was bought in July. No distructions came with it.
Fitted at the bottom of the Glory Hole behind the Gear selector
Here is a close up of the front
Hope that helps
