Derwentwater overnight trip
Hi spent two days in the lakes. Still very cold and was surprised the gas was not too efficient the next morning as we have the bottle (907) in its own bag for insulation. Needs a rethink. It sits in the cupboard near the tailgate and was out of the sun.
Had a try of a canoe. Tea in hotel. Breakfast in a bongo. Nice walk at Whinlatter. Drive through Whinlatter pass, around to Buttermere, over the Honister pass and down into Borrowdale. Really enjoyed it. Loads of snow over 2000ft.

You know it was me Muz. I started out as a passenger and felt it was a bit wobbly, but swapped over when we stepped off onto one of the islands and rowed back. I loved it. Harry was thinking of getting a kayak but this would suit me better, you're still dry when you get out.Muzorewa wrote:Looks good

Beautiful pics. Braver than me in the freezing weather, I stay snuggled up under my duvet and don't see daylight until the temp. hits at least 15 degrees lol!!

If I wore a hat I'd take it off to you guys - you certainly get out and do stuff (note to self - must try that sometime).
Re the gas bottle - I'm not surprised. I think a meths cooker may be the best back-up option for cold weather?
