bleeding frustration....heater controls

spent 45 minutes refilling and bleeding her

just got to point were temp gauge was at 1.pm and she runs out of diesel

but at that point front heater was still blowing cold

rear would cook you

looking under neath at the round thing

you can see the bits moving as you cycle through the settings

but when you mess with temp on it you see nothing

or am i looking in the wrong place

ok the temp control appears to be on passenger side

it moves but the rod seems an odd shape so i wonder if its not moving far enough

my main question now is what needs removing so i can get to touch the heater rad

to see if its getting hot or not

and if its not is there a faq on removing it

For comparrison, heres a pic of my temp control (passenger side) and this works fine. Is yours something similar?

yes and with arm level like thats supposed to be max heat

the rads hot i removed the 2 screw and teased panel below and can touch it

so im lost must be the gubbins this arm moves

but i cannot see how to get a look at it

without stripping the car down

Did the links on the FAQ not help at all? are you sure the heater matrix is getting hot? could be blocked or just airlocked? what method are using to bleed?

hot enough to burn my finger tips if left to long

same method of rev and idle and keeping topped up ive allways used as the faq basically

seems by feel its a plastic one is that right
