For comfortable ride, keep a good depth on the tyre. The standard 15 inch wheels/tyres are probably the best for a soft ride. Some say the best trade off for ride and looks is 16 inch wheels. I have 17 inch wheels fitted and 55 depth tyres (Pirelli P7s - expensive but they ride real nice) and the ride isn't bad. 18 low profile and things get harsh. But whatever wheels are fitted, my 95 Bongo doesn't like potholes much, thoug I suspect a newer / later models might handle them better. On a good surface though, not a bad ride at all 8)
