I have recently purchased a Bongo and put it through its MOT. one of the items it failed on was the lack of illumination on the fog light switch. The garage has replace the rear fog light switch with an alternative but I now have no illumination to my control display.
when I trun the ignition there are certain lights that light up, but when i turn my headlights and start the Bongo on I have no illumination to the control display. My front fog lights don't seem to be working now either.
I am asking for some advice.
I can not remember whether the control display (rev counter, fule, oil and seed dial's ) is illuminated.
Also does the fog light iluminate on the control display.

Many Thanks

Ray

Welcome to the forum Ray if you put you location in by clicking user control panel (top right) local people might be able to help you more.

I would suggest you go back to the garage who fitted the new fog lamp switch as they might have blown a fuse to stop your other dash lights working.

good luch others might be along soon with more practical advice.

fuse is under the bonnet, think its a 15amp, located at rear of the box, and is marked tail, beware if it is that fuse blown,it also means you have no rear lights!! the garage has probably incorrectly wired the fog light switch the first time they fitted it.

Yes, there should be a green glow from behind all the dials on the dash.

There is no illuminated symbol on the panel on the dash which is why having an illuminated switch is a requirement.

Hopefully it's just a fuse as previously mentioned.

I've had Mike Chard of MC Electrics in Falmouth do various little electrical jobs on my Bongo and whilst he may not call himself an expert, I would say that he now knows his way round Bongo electrics very well!! That's not to say that I've had lots of problems as I haven't - it's been stuff like leisure battery/Willinton kit, rewired/additional 12v sockets, erratic window switches and a dodgy connection on my fog light switch!

I asked ages ago if he would be happy if I bandied his name about on this Forum as being a Bongo friendly auto electrician and he said he would. This is the first chance I have had!

If you can face that long haul across county to Falmouth, his number is 01326 210848.

By the way, welcome to the Forum and welcome to Bongo ownership. You'll love it! Keep an eye open on the Devon & Cornwall section of this forum (or even introduce yourself on there) as we have a few local meets each year which you may like to come along to.
