A couple or 3 quick questions!

After picking up our new bongo on Saturday there are a couple of things which David would like me to ask you experts.
1)I must say one thing that has disappointed me about is that the central locking isn't remote, and we have to actually put the key in the lock for the locking to work (I haven't had to do that in years). The question is when unlocking the driver's door and locking for that matter should ALL the other doors either lock or open as we have found that the sliding side door doesn't work. Is this right? and does the sliding door need to be open/locked on it's own?
2) What is the green light in the cup holder?
3) As you open the sliding door and look up at the cover for the aft that lifts up what is the circle/hole in this for?
Thanks very much.

Yes all the doors should lock with the key~the light (green) just illuminates (poorly) the ash tray~the hole as you look up~Mikeon4bc will be along shortly to explain

Yup the Drivers door should lock/unlock all the other doors.
Not all the sliding doors are soft close, perhaps your is one of the hand close variety?
The hole in up to the AFT is to let the air in and out when opening and closing it.
You can fit a remote to the drivers door so that you don't have to get the key out

Or, if you got an alarm system like mine you can set it so it opens on proximity.. So you don't even have to push a button to lock/unlock!
.. Though i'm old school, & prefer to exercise my finger...

Geoff, I'm familiar enough with 433.92MHz that I prefer to lock and unlock with a Key!!!

All as Geoff says. All locks should operate from the drivers door key. I've sometimes thought I would fit remote locking but have never found it a great nuisance just using the key and since it is another job and another thing to go wrong, I've not bothered.
You don't say if your sliding door has the autoclose feature or not. If it doesn't (or if it doesn't work) I shouldn't worry much. My lot happily close the door firmly so the autclose isn't called into action anyway. Its a nice touch to have it but thats about it.
The circular hole in the headlining panel is very handy for threading a pee-tube through should you want to sleep upstairs without the hassle of getting out in the night. You'd be able to use that she-wee again

Here's my midden, set up and - ahem - ready to go when I need to

Congrats on the new Bongo. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
1. If lack of remote central locking really bothers you, and you are able to get hold of an original remote central locking system for a Bongo, I've got a set of original fitting instructions (mine came with it, and the previous owner kept all the instructions). This is the first vehicle I have had with remote central locking, and I was still using the key out of force of habit for ages.
3. That little hole? Communication hatch!!

I have noticed quite a few new shape bongos like mine yours and there was a newbie the other day saying that the sliding door wont lock with the central locking.
I'm wondering if this is a new thing with the bongos coming into the UK.
Next time im ar wheelquick im going to have alook at the rest of the bongos,

Mike, you really are a man after my own heart!
This sort of thing is quite acceptable on the continent. Might i suggest a warning sign to preserve your modesty in the UK?
