LB stuffed?

Went out to the bongo earlier, remote central locking wasn't working, opened the drivers door with the key, the other doors still didn't unlock , flicked the battery meter onto the the LB - nowt
It was fine yesterday drove to Martock & back, LB was working fine (about an hour journey). The weather was horrendous on the way back lots of flooded bits of road, so water must have got in somewhere & created a short I reckon.
Alternator charges ok, split charge is working ok, although the 70 amp fuse (
edit not relay

) had blown (not surprising since there was about 1.5 v on the LB

) . Intelligent charger wouldn't play at all, so I used the old school, 30 odd yr old "chuck the current in" charger for a couple of hours, got a bit warm, but it pulled the voltage up enough to get the intelligent charger going instead, so I'll leave it charging & see if it gets anywhere & I've disconnected everything on the LB for now. It's a Numax 110AH, only about 18 months old, so it should be replaced under guarantee if necessary, but I could do without the aggro of trying to track down leccy faults

mine in the eriba collapsed recently kirsty, could not get it to charge properly after,
jamie has a gadget called a cetek unit in his caravan, flattens completely then charges apparently stuffed batts.
guess what it did the job great, reads like a new battery now!!
dreamwarrior fitted it for him,its described as a battery reconditioner.

If it's the same as this one -
http://www.vertar.com/ctek/ctek-multi-xs-3600/ then I think that's basically the same as the intelligent one that's charging it at the mo.

Thay's the one that I've got to do exactly the same job. Works a treat, although is does get quite hot - be carefull where you mount it! It also revived my old 'what I thought was goosed' LB from nothing, so I'd recommend one - £42 is a really good price too!

My central locking doesn't work on every occassion either. Turn the key and it works fine, the next time nothing. I thought it may have been due to the snow we had here last week but wasn't sure if it was something else. Is it a common problem? Is it easily sorted? I don't have an LB.

Beats the £44.99 I paid.
Looking at the picture though the connectors look different. On the one I got they're orange comfort connectors, which make it compatible with the indicator panel I got with it.

At a guess, I'd have expected performance not to vary, but I've been able to tell in the past if battery is not well becuase the central locking sounds a bit sluggish. I imagine you could test things by connecting the +ve of the LB to the +ve of the SB so that the former is augmented by the latter. Then see if the problem goes away.

If you mean the remote central locking, could be the fob battery is getting low, iffy connection somewhere or the starter battery getting low amongst other things. As you don't have an LB, (take note Mike

) check the SB voltage if it doesn't work, it may be a bit low.

Other points apply (i.e. my c/l was sluggish when SB was in poor nick)

If the relay got damaged then best to fit a fuse before it to save it next time.

I may be able to help you with that.
If you light a fire under the battery and place one of those hot air driven Christmas chimes above it:

..and then use that to drive a small electric motor working as a generator.......you ought to be able to generate sufficient power to light maybe one LED.
I'll fetch me coat
