Bongo Fury

Eyup all sorry it's speedo's again done some searches but can't find what i'm looking for i've recently change my speedo to a GA5R & was hoping it would be reasonably accurate.
I thought with local runs round town etc; it was reading fast but was'nt sure by how much~so have been away for a few days & tried it against my sat/nav & it's reading between 8 & 10 miles per hour fast~i've got 15" wheels on so thought it should read about right.
Is there any way of adjusting the speedo to make it read right.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sure is

You can pop the needle off and move it, a couple of spoons work a treat but watch out for the 2 weights that are in it, I glued them into place in the end.

I found it was easier to work out roughly the distance that I needed to move it, then with the ignition on (the coil is charged and the needle wont move about) remove the stop pin and adjust from there.

Mine is reading about 3mph over the gps and i'm more than happy with that

Thanks for response~i've took needle off on 2 different Bongo's quite a few times (no problem) it's a matter of how much do you move needle?

Its a how long is a piece of string question really

It was trial and error when i did my ga5r, i drove up and down the industrial area and reset mine before i noticed there is a calibration mark on the speedo (its behind the cowling normally) and If you remove the stop pin and turn on the ignition (or apply 12v to the circuit on a bench) the needle should line up with the mark, then just move it a couple of mm down


Alternatively you can buy a 'Speedo Healer' from these people http://www.healtech-electronics.com/ at about £57 its not cheap but will do the job and accurately too

I've moved the needle (guessed) & got it right first go i'm not usually that lucky~went out with the missus & sat/nav & it's reading about 1 or 2 miles per hour fast so that'll do nicely thanks
