A question about this thing...

I was adjusting the slack on my accelerator cable earlier on, & casting an eye over a few other things....

When i noticed this.!

24-8002? This thing adjusts the idle speed when cold, then drops the plunger bit out when the engine warms up...

My question is... Should it kind of do the same thing when the air con is on too?

Yup, the front 2 vacuum actuators on the drivers side of the engine control the cold start fast idle & air con fast idle, it should raise the revs slightly when the fans/aircon kicks in, actuator could be duff, vacuum connection could be iffy or electrical connection.

Cheers Kirsty..! :D I'll get my meter out & start poking about regarding the latter..

I'm figuring if the unit was duff it wouldn't work on the cold start.. :-k

More likely to be the actuator, one for cold start, one for a/c.

  I was thinking the 24-8002 gizmo... #-o Where am i likely to find said actuator?? & Didn't you have a similar problem..?

I've noticed if anything my revs drop slightly on idling when the AC's put on...

18-741c - http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... 1of02.html drivers side, on the side of the engine at the front , little plastic actuators, probably got a mitsubishi sign on the end with the vacuum hoses running to em.
If your revs drop, it's the actuator, especially if the fast idle works ok.

OK..!? Been out & had a look.. That's easy.. They do have a Mitsubishi sign on em & look the same as each other.. I followed the tubes & all connected!

The AC actuators got the white connector to it.. Now where do i get another one from??? :-k

I adapted one of the egr ones to do the job, depends if your egr's been blanked or in use, saying that it's playing up again.
Stick 12v across it & make sure it's operating.

You know me.. I know nuffin about this sort of thing.. But i did just swap the plugs over & put the AC on & it worked with the other one!! :D

I reckon i can fix this!!

I would hazard a guess my egr has not been blanked.. Mmmm something else to poke about?

Just sourced one from Bellhill!! I pick it up Monday.. (I'm down there anyway!)

Can't quite work out why it needs the two actuators..? When i plugged in the AC block, the cold idle still came on even without the AC on. But idled higher for longer till the engine warmed then cut out & idle dropped back to 750'ish ?
As opposed to the cold start block as normal. (Which never gave it time to warm properly before cutting out in my opinion.)
Though the vehicle starts & runs great!

Cheers fer that! :D Good to know.. I've been looking into Evos & the like before ringing Bellhill who are doing me a bargain!

The new ones ain't cheap.. 70 quid fer sumat the size of two cigarette lighters?? 125 for an Evo!!

Just one question.. Has anyone pulled off the oval shape knob with the Mitsubishi sign on it at the front, just below where the electrics plug in?? There is a metal nozzle underneath when removed.. :-k I was wondering if it was cleaned out with a compressor, the thing inside that moves & causes the vacuum might unstick & work.?
