Air con question

Does the front air con control override the rear one?
Especially the recirc option as there is no recirc button on the rear control panel.
Reason for asking is that I want to use an air con bomb to get rid of the smell of old pub & the air con should be set on full with recirc on.

Ok, I'm assuming that the rear system is only recirc with no fresh air intake, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there a compressor on the rear system or is cooling only available from the front?

:?

So far as I know the only recirculation control is on the front panel and the rear system appears to work using inlet and outlets in the rear compartment, but whether that inlet is only used when recirculating I can't say. Also so far as I know there is only one compressor and condenser.

When I used a "bomb", I just started the engine, placed the bomb on the centre console, set the front panel to recirculate, front and rear fans to full and shut the door until it was all over.

The front system can be recirculate or fresh air, the rear is recirculate only be it heating or on aircon. The rear aircon will only work if it is turned on at the front.

I think you have to have have the rear system directed to the top vents (makes sense anyway as cool air drops) to make it work.

I agree with the others. I'll be interested to see how well and for how long the bomb removes the smell. Keep us posted if poss. and good luck :D

Only one compressor (up front), hence the need to run front aircon before rear aircon kicks in. Separate rear evaporator and fan (fan drives rear heater and aircon, for "climate control"). Recirculation-only, in the rear heat and aircon systems, so open the front external air input vent, to get some fresh air through the rear systems - will be limited effect though.

I priced up the air con freshener at Halfords & at £13 thought I was a little on the expensive side.
So I decided to buy a can of Neutradol from Wilko 97p & rigged it so I could set it off inside the Bongo with the air con on recirc.
It took about 3 minutes to empty the can & I left the air con running for another 7 mins.
It smells quite nice in there now, but I'll give another update after we've been away in it over the bank holiday week end.

My local Aldi had them in for £2 but by the time I had decided to nip round and get one they had all gone #-o

Always the case!

They'd reduced them to £1 last week here, I think I picked up the last one

If that fails the bigger tesco stores have the comma air con treatment for £4.99, works well and the smell of oranges soon goes.
