Hi everyone.
Sorry to be a pain but have looked and searched.
Why are there two alternator belts. We have found one mangled up and have taken it off.
Can anyone help please.

If one's gone, chances are, the other isn't far behind, not expensive & not hard to do, just don't overtighten them.

You can't run one, I've tried it. Replace both at same time so they are both the same length. Keep old one in glove box for emergency spare. Go to a specialist such as ringing bongobits as I tried ones from local motor factors that mangled as they are a funny pitch/size. Just one belt will slipped and has to be tightened so much that it strains the water pump bearings...

Thanks Russ. Have ordered from Bongobits. Phew.
Found out from partco as you say they are not the right pitch.
