HELP! I have a leaky Bongo....

Post by conmai » Wed May 26, 2010 7:29 pm

Hi All,

I've read through a few posts now but still unsure on where to start troubleshooting, When I fill up the water/coolamnt reservoir under the bonnet (Top right) after a minute the wate starts to drip from out under the alternator belt area, (The engine is not turned on at this point), I've had a good look round underneath, and the water appears to be running down the crankshaft area and behind the crankshaft pully, it then starts dripping over the edge......

Any help appreciated.....

Was wondering the same thing...? Had mine sorted a few weeks back. Showed signs of a leak when the engine was stopped!

Most likely water pump.

Genuine ones from Club Shop @ £66, cheaper on ebay but be wary of cheap imitations . . . .

Hi conmai,

Water coming from that location, could be a faulty(leaking) core plug.

Thanks for the suggestions.....Water pump sounds like a good place to start first...Although I'm not familiar on the Core Plug?

Thanks for the thread link too, I'll post back when I find something more.
