You wouldn't belive it!

Well, I thought I'd changed all the hoses.......but I missed one.
The small 3 inch hose at the bottom of the turbo that goes to the stat housing.
Guess what? It's sprung a leak.
Bank holiday ruined. Have to get hose and yet more antifreeze, change hose and bleed for about the 20th time in 2 months
Looks about 8mm bore? Anyone know what size before I order some.

Can't you just tape it for now usig that annealing hose tape? As long as header tank level hasn't dropped you won't need to bleed or owt

Nah, it's gone where it fit's onto stat housing. Not enough room to tape it.
Also lost a surprising amount of coolant- will need bleeding.

The only place I can get to today(by bus) is Halfrauds.
They don't stock the right size heater hose, but would fuel hose do the trick for such a short length?

Personally I wouldn't risk it as they are doing very different jobs and spec. could be quite different. I suppose if its inexpensive and if you've got to bleed it anyway, and if you have a low coolant alarm, you could try it as a short term fix only. Maybe put a length in some v hot water first and you might get an idea whether it will be up to the job.
Bl**dy nuisance though

To answer your question re size, just measured one that I have and it is:
7mm bore, 14mm outside, 3.5mm wall and it appears to be single braided.
As Mike said earlier, be careful what you use because that is probably one of the hottest hoses on the Bongo - coolant just come out of head and through turbo.

Well, I can't seem to find any 7mm id heater hose online
Sure it's not 8mm?

Nice find! Cheers
Hope there's a bus stop nearby!
The one hose I overlooked, barely 3 inches long, typical.....would go on a bank holiday.
On the plus side, we were going to go out today, but I thought I'd let it warm up and give it the once over first. Could have lost a load of coolant on the motorway with wife and son inside. At least I spotted it before any damage occurred.
Right then....bus timetables for Tuesday

Just taken the hose off the stat housing and measured the pipe it fits on and the pipe is 7mm but the hose bore (bit crudded up and slightly oval in spots) measures between 7 and 7.5mm (absolute max)

Well, the hose on mine does seem to be 8mm!
I expect it's 5/16 heater hose so it's technically 7.9mm I think.
