Bongo Fury

Went to drop son off this afternoon and when he got out of the van he heard water................i got out and in the middle underneath there is a big metal pipe with a rubber hose on each end squirting hot water out!!!!! Its the pipe that runs near the big housing. needless to say i wish i had a coolant alarm but that said it has to be fixed before August. Ive got a mechanic just need to source the right pipe and hoses. Can i get them from bongo fury or mazda itself ???

thanks will give em a bell Forgot to say there was no sign of any leaks or water under the van prior to this............it just happened just like that.Am glad i was local and got to get van home where she will stay now until she is sorted.BUMMER!!!! on the bright side i am not without transport.i get use of hubbies vtec prelude for a while!! Much prefer the Bongo though

It starts with a rubber hose.....Rad to metal pipe
then metal pipe
Then rubber hose metal pipe to cylinder head.

Put all 3 together and you have the complete top hose system


Did the tempreture gauge move towards HOT ??

It is all them Hayden. Unfortunately it did rise to nearly hot. Do you think any damage is done..........

Now i know which hoses to get i am thinking maybe renew all the pipes top and bottom.......and fit a coolant alarm. It looks like the hoses are perished and would rather spend the money renewing it all as i dare say they are all the originals on the van.Looked on the cooling system diagram and i can see the top,bottom and a spaghetti of others. If you read this hayden could you advise is it 3 for the top (1 metal 2 rubber) andsame for bottom hoses please
I hope no damage was done to the head as temp guage rose to a cm before hot but i drove with heater on full wack on cold to try and keep it cool and also filled up res bottle for what it was worth. I am absolutely gutted.

Yes...bottom hose is also 2 x rubber and a metal pipe...there are also another 10/15 small bore pipes

That sounds a lot of pipes or have i gone blonde and you mean the bores ???

Told you i was dim lol my god there are a lot of pipes in the system would it be best to do all of them do you think?????

personally I would just check them all and replace as required......

from my experience if your hoses start to go,this indicates that the stat is not doing its job properly,sorry but just something else to look at.
