Exhaust Cold Start Unit

Hi All,
I have searched but unable to find the answer.
I have replaced my turbo that went pop and after an exiting time bleeding the cooling system all appears well.
The turbo however lost its turbine fins bit on the exhaust side of the turbo unit it just snapped off and away it went down the exhaust.
The exhaust system appears to be working fine but when idling or on start up its most musical as the fin bit rattles about and runs up and down the pipe on (de)acceleration.
I have the North Japan cold start box on the exhaust and need to know before I start undoing all its bit and bobs what is in the box.
Can I open it up, remove its gubbins and my turbo bit and put it together again, remove the box and clamp the two pipe ends together, fit a spacer or just turn the radio up!
Cheers
