first of all i would like to pay a big thank you (again) to northern bongolow for his time and knowledge on helping me out in changing the radiator, thermostat, fan and temp sensors and showing me how to go on with the bleeding process. THANKS Ady.
i recently fit a mason alarm and was quite worried on how hot the bongo was running, so ady suggested on fitting a genuine thermostat and sure as, he was right. the old one was a blueprint copy, but the most alarming discovery was how filthy the top of the thermostat housing was, a bit of emery cloth sorted it out. ady explained that the thermo would'nt be doing it's job efficiently with all that gunk present.
we then fitted genuine fan and temp sensors and yet again they were not to clever, coated in gunk, and dropped in a new radiator. the bongo now seems to be behaving itself touch wood, the masons set at 4.5 and now i get a true reading of the temp gauge.
if anyone out there is going to change there thermostat get a genuine mazda one put in and as ady showed me get down there and check the top of the thermostat housing you may be presently suprised.
cheers kev... :D
