My van's in the garage (Diesel Specialist) who have told me that my Injector Pump is knackered. This is the result of weeks of stalling and painful journeys not knowing when she will cut out on me next. The garage have quoted me betwen 650 and 1200 to fix this problem. Is this a reasonable price?

That's one heck of a range for a quote
Have you tried any of the breakers advertising on the Home page of this site? Allans and Bellhill seem to be the nearest ones to you.

Wheelquick (Wigan) once told me a reconditioned pump was about £600. Then there's labour charges, which I'd have thought should not be astronomical.. Wheelquick are excellent Bongo specialists, with very reasonable charges and a straight talking attitude. So around the £800 mark sounds possible but I don't see why it should go much higher than that

Cripes - prices are up! I'm sure I used to see them on ebay for less than that
Paul - who is honestly going to pay £4k for a new one from Mazda if reconditioning them is (not surprisingly!) a well established service. Crazy

Hi
I have a used injection pump here from a P reg 2WD PM me if it is any use to you and we can sell it as a second hand unit. I will need to know the exact pump numbers of yours to ensure they are the same.
The later flyby wire ones can be very very expensive to fix and very few places will touch them.
We have broke cars before due to pump issues
Non bongo info but we had a late Nissan largo with what appeared to be a overfueling fault but turned out to be a scored casing and so pump was scrap, Nissan wanted £2500 which would have been at old exchange rates so nearer £4000 now second hand units were impossible to find for a fly by wire so a mint condition car was used as a parts car
