Hi
Can anyone check some connections please.
I am looking at the connection for vehicle speed sensor to ECU (not ECU to speedo)
Also RPM sensor to ECU (not ECU to rev counter)
Wire colour would be helpful, also
Thanks
I haven't as yet, got the Workshop manual and wiring from the shop.
I have tried database in the Members section, but that isn't working!
Cheers
Helen

Which ECU??? (I assume transmission?)
I have also been unable to access the wiring diagrams for a problem I have here.

Hi
Mike:
Thanks
Alacrity:
There is only one ECU in the footwell...I have a unit to connect to the sensors as named, and there seems to be doubt...I suspect that the pin I am using is the wrong one, or the HUD unit is duff....
Cheers

Hi
YUP
The main ECU is in the passenger footwell against the bulkhead...not too hard to access....unless you have a bad back like mine...and a bad temper when you hurt it looking for an ECU
Happy hunting
Cheers

Hi alacrity
I have checked...I am looking for the transmission speed sensor, so currently have the unit wired to pin 2G, labelled speed sensor 1
Would that sound right?
Cheers

I've been very tempted by one of these HUD's its just a pity they dont put a fuel flow sensor into the mix and along with the speed sensor it could tell you your mpg

2G Labelled as Vehicle speed 1 - speed sensor 1
2F - Engine rev signal (input) - NE Sensor
2E - Vehicle speed signal 2 - speed sensor 2
Don't know if that helps?

Hi Kirsty
I have those numbers , so, Steve was going through his manual, and it seems pretty much that I have connected the right pins, however....the manual for the HUD is a translation from oriental and pretty much the usual when it comes to English understanding.....I'm probing around to calibrate it, but it is a sequential system, and probably like a cascade thing...get the first programme wrong and the rest follow (downhill

)...so I have to wipe the info and start again....OOOooohhh ain't life fun
Cheers

Sorry Helen, I don't have that info here - that is what I was trying to get a wiring diagram for. Waiting to hear back about the online diagrams as I am stuck at work here without one. We have proved the problem lies outside the gearbox but without the wiring diagram it is difficult to know where to start.

Hi Alacrity
We have been chatting, and think that the pins already used are the right ones, and that it may be the setup sequence itself....I'll have another go tomorrow, also waiting to hear back from the vendor...he's usually pretty helpful
Cheers

You can get the cd of the wiring diagrams from the club shop I think still?

Hi Scott
Hang fire on the HUD unit for the moment...a number of people are helping regarding connections, but so far they appear to be correct, so I've written to the manufacturers Tech Dept.
If you want MPG figures, most car computers aren't that accurate from what I've been told, however, if you want to improve your economy, get a Turbo boost gauge, and drive to the gauge.
Most economy is in driving style...i have been taught how to drive as a chauffer -style technique , and it pays off...It only needs a few tips, and most folk can manage it
Cheers
