central locking help needed

Post by firefitter » Thu Jul 01, 2010 3:46 pm

Hi all :)

I got my Bongo (named "Abby" by my daughter) a couple of weeks ago and although she has central locking there's no remote.

Should there be one?
Can I get one?
Is it a code thing? ie go to main dealer or specialist and buy one specific to my vehicle?

Camping this weekend!!! :D

As standard the central locking works off the driver's door key. You can have remote locking added but you need a motor for the driver's door to replace you manually turning the key

Enjoy the camping. :D

Remote CL is an optional extra, even if you have got it fitted, if you haven't got the transmitter fob, I don't think anyone has had succes reprogramming one as yet, it'd be simpler/cheaper to fit an after market unit, there's a factsheet in the members areaon how to do it. If there is nothing fitted ATM you will need an actuator in the drivers door to make it work, as it's not fitted as standard.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Thank you both so much for your help :D
I'll look into putting one in as its a pain to have to go to the drivers door every single time (when you're used to just pushing a button)
