Engine Size Question????

Hi all,
We are brand new Bongo owners (or at least will be when we pick it up on Friday!) and have a query. The vehicle we are buying has its engine capacity described as 2190cc on the V5 document, but I was under the impression that all diesel Bongo's are 2494cc or 2499cc - I am therefore assuming that this anomoly is a mistake by the DVLA when the vehicle was originally imported into the UK?
The vehicle is a 1996 (P) SGL5 diesel.
Obviously I need to declare the engine size correctly when I insure it, so can anyone shed any light on where 2190cc description may have come from?
Did Mazda make a 2190cc diesel Bongo?
If this is simply an error on the V5 I guess I just contact the DVLA and request they issue a new one? Anyone know if there are any onerous implications here? Has anyone else out there had a simliar experience?
One last thing, if I can get the engine number from the person I'm buying from is there a database where I can check definitively what the engine size is?
Hopefully one of you can offer some advice!!
Hopefully I posted this in the right section?!?
Thanks.

afaik there is only one size of diesel engine, the 2.5td that was fitted in the bongo's, the same engine that was fitted into the ford ranger and mazda B2500 pickups.
Have a check in your drivers side door for a label with your engine size on it. or just type your vin number into here

Never heard of a 2190cc for the bongo, simple error, but you may have fun getting them to change it

Quite agree Kirsty, me brother as owned a Opel Astra from new for about 9 nine year's and on renewing his insurance he was told it was a 2 litre

to his surprise as it is ONLY a 1.6 litre, this meant it was off the road for a couple of month's untill the DVLA were satisfied what engine was actually in the vehicle

. So for several year's driving around if he's would've had a claim his insurance would've been null and void.

All sorted now but I know he lost count of how many letter's he sent to the DVLA.

Hi
In the old days of the cardboard logbook, I owned a vespa scooter which was registered as a 3-wheeled road roller???...a neighbour had a Lambretta which was an industrial mowing machine...oh, boy...there were loads of these apparent errors....I wonder if someone had been playing pranks??
Cheers
Helen

Thanks for the replies.
Called the DVLA and have been advised that its a simple mistake and that it will be corrected when the existing V5 is returned and the new one is issued to me.
They are very aware of these kinds of data errors it seems.

That's good new's, remember to take a photo copy of your V5 b4 posting off to DVLA.

2190 is the engine size in the Estima diesel so assume either importer or DVLA either filled form in wrong or got confuddled...
