"Clunk" sound on overrun

Hello,
I have recently bought a bongo and am wondering if anyone else has this problem.
When running on a flat road or down hill a metal "clunk" sound can be heard from underneath just as you lift off the accelorator. My bongo seems to be driving fine and there are no transmission fault codes displayed. I've had a look through the forum and can't see any other posts relating to this.
It only seems to do it after about 20 mins driving. Is this something they all do?
Can anyone help?

Could also be the brake pads sliding in the calipers - do you get it when you brake?

Many thanks for all the replies. Very helpful.
Have checked the engine / gearbox mounts and can't seen anything wrong. There isn't any play in the driveshaft so don't think its that either.
I thought about it being the pads as I'd read posts of serveral people who'd had the same thing. So it could be that.
After driving around a bit more and listening, it seems to always happen when a gear is "disengaged" and you are free wheeling. It doesn't start doing it untill its warmed up a bit.
I think I'll have to do some more tests with my girlfriend driving and me listening

Hi IanD,
May be a long shot but it might be worth checking the Battery and Jack are secure.
Cheers.

Could it just be normal play in the transmission system.
If it is anything else, it will get worse and then you will find it.

Hello all,
Thank you for all your help. We've done some more testing and listening today.
It happens when starting to break from above 30 mph. This would suggest that its the pads moving.
Many thanks to fracophile1947, problem solved!
