Soooooooooo glad to hear your back on the road Al, but as Kirsty asks, did you find the cause as it may happen again. Lets hope it was something simple,
all the best

Did the garage know how to deal with a bongo cooling system.....DID they bleed it using the bleed hose under the passenger seat.....if you don't know for sure I would ring and ask before driving it anywhere.

If you're losing coolant, it's going somewhere, it doesn't just disappear, hopefully your normal garage will find the cause.
The normal temp gauge is pretty much useless at telling you what's going on unless it's been modified with a Mason alarm - http://www.townace.plus.com/ie/ietemga2.htm or modified as per the instructions written by Ben - http://www.enginesaver.com.au/Tempgauge.pdf.

If it's coming out of the overflow, that means either the pressure cap has failed, or it's got hot/pressurised enough to lift the 1.1bar cap to expel the coolant, needs some serious investigation, nort just topping up & sending on your way [-X
