Front passenger window

I have been having problems with the passenger window electrics for a while now and i thought i solved it by replacing the wiring which passes through the door. The window worked for a couple of months with no trouble until yesterday. It now will only go down when the switch is activated. If you pull on the switch to raise the window nothing happens. I have had it all apart again but could see no obvious cause. Can anyone help.

These switches have a habit of breaking when lifted too enthusiastically.
The switch rocker is not the actual switch. There is a thin plastic lever below the rocker which mates with the slide switch underneath. This can get dislodged and unless relocated correctly in the neutral central position, will operate the window downwards more easily than upwards. Try pushing downwards slightly at the back of the switch while raising the front. This works for me.
The driver's side passenger window switch must be in neutral for the one on the passenger door to work.
If you dismantle the switch, do it over a piece of sheet or something as little bits and springs are involved!
Well worth checking this before going mad on the loom and possibly introducing aggro that wasn't there in the first place.

Are both passenger switches doing the same, ie the drivers side one & the one on the passenger door?

The window wont go up on either switch. The last time it went up was very slow and since then it will only go down.

I have no wish to come across as impertinent...

I would be looking at where the initial repair was made in the loom first, it may have come adrift not allowing the window to be raised...??

I replaced the loom when i had the original problem which i tested before installation but i will be looking into the possibility that this replacement has been damaged.

The test I would do is as follows:
Partly dismantle the nearside switch on the driver's door. Using a thin pocket screwdriver, slide the slider switch to the centre position. If the switch on the passenger door now works then the wiring loom is ok. Look for damage to the 'axle' of the switch and a soggy feel to the switch.
When you put it back together make sure that the actuating lever slides the slider both ways from the centre position.

The fact that it doesn't work on either switch points to it being a wiring issue to me.
