Got a two way LCD pager alarm that has been inoperative for about a month...
It was out of warranty & granted i've done a few mods...
Basically just after rigging up an led to flash in the dash (left gutted dial eBay didn't want back)

& stopping the cheesy blip on arming, it kind of ceased to respond to either key fob..
New battery's fitted in the fobs & checking connections on the alarm, i suspected the frequency specific aerial connected at the back using an RCA plug......
Soooo, i rang the alarm people who make this model stating although i know the alarm is long out of warranty i'm willing to invest in a new aerial.. I was told by the guy that answered the phone that a techie would get back to me after i gave my number... Four days & checking the solder on the brain box PCB where the RCA female socket docks & a whole lot of alarm research on the net later no call back.. Feeling like a confident fish out of brewers vat i phone em again & get through to the same guy...
Look i said put though to a parts department & let me buy an aerial, cuz yer techie guy never got back to me...?
We no longer make or stock this alarm he said or the parts...
Then went on to say the techie guys gone to Europe to test a new system involving a sim card & mobile alert!!! & some Russian girl he met on the net... ( i made that bit up!
)
I politely said Fank U very much & left it at that.. & continued my search for an aerial else where....
Now i'm more used to musician audio equipment.. & don't get me wrong (Lay off Kirsty!
) the alarms been pretty good...
I just got to the point of looking for a replacement alarm today, & went out to see if there was anything i may have missed...... Cuz at best it would only alarm the vehicle if i was inside the van..!!
For the sheer hell of it i decided to re-teach the alarm the key fob frequency codes....
Success!!!

The moral of this story??? Who cares i saved me a shed o cash!
