=D> Excellent post Muz and team.

We saw a site very similar to that as we were travelling to a Day out in the Hills involving a steam train. Just wish I could remember what it was called. #-o It was past Fairbourne, along the coast for about 40 mins then inland a bit. The site was a narrow one but all with fantastic views of the sea as yours was. There was a Bongo on there as we past on our return trip to Barmouth and Tal-y-bont.

[quote="Muzorewa"]You may wonder why, from Cae Du in Gwynedd on our last night, we ventured south into Powys and then Dyfed to Borth. This was in search of the lost forest, some Scottish geezer on the recent "Coast" series on the BBC was waxing lyrical about how Cardigan Bay was once a fertile land and to prove it there is the remains of a forest at Borth which can be clearly seen at low tide. Google to the rescue and check out the tide times, and get along there.... 8)

Borth beach was indeed once part of a huge forrest that stretched out for miles before the sea claimed it, and at low tide HEY PRESTO :D

Found the Railway. It is a great day out where you can hop on and off ans visit the waterfalls, picnic areas and nature walks up the valley. Dogs are also permitted which was fab.

is that the one you were telling us about ? I just clicked the link and it's in the sea lol ;)
I've got a list as long as my arm of things I want to do there this week and it keeps growing  I think I may have to have another trip that way later in the year :)

The "Coast" programme also mentioned a spit going out into the sea. Anyone know where that is?

Ah, that's better, I thought I'd lost the plot completely before, unless it was the new Channel Tunnel rail link extension

We went through Tywyn as well. Bums.
