High pitched whistle when setting off - V6

Hi y'all
When I start my V6 I get a high-pitched whistle which slowly fades as I drive away after about 30 seconds (sometimes more quickly if I lift the accelerator). Its seems to be getting a little louder and certainly longer lasting. Not getting any warning lights, seat belts fastened, etc. Is it some kind of warning signal I really should be taking note of? Are all the wheels going to fall off? Any help appreciated

Sounds like a slipping fan belt.

Have you got a coolant alarm? I've noticed that my coolant alarm is sometimes sensitive to slight drops in voltage such as when you switch something on without the engine running and just after starting the engine. It just sounds quietly and then tails off in a second or two as the battery recovers

thanks folks. Doesnt really sound like a slipping fan belt (tho will check) and indeed do have a coolant alarm. Not particlaurly quiet however. Will check both ideas out. Ta much!

lift the passy side seat and listen, think it may be turbo related, either pipework or associated

The V6 is unfortunately naturally aspirated.

Yours burbles like a twin!

I'd drop the Garret T4's though... Too long to spool up mate, stick with T2's with around 8PSi going through them, ran through a forge intercooler with aquamist spray. Re-map with a Motec M4 Pro stand alone engine management, and try running bosch 803 "dark greens" injectors, and of course 6 new low compression pistons through ported and polished heads...Might be an idea to throw in some Isky valve springs with re-profiled Isky cams, with of course a balanced and lightened flywheel.

i think i will go for the cheaper option
put a evo 9 mrfq420 in instead and get all 4 wheels spinning

You'd have to convert to 4wd or blank off the opposing outlet on the mitsi's box though Carl!
