Bongo Fury

Not really Bongo related but just wanted to find out if steel seal is any good?

The story so far is that my son has a Freelander fitted with the infamous 1.8 K series petrol engine, six months ago this started to overheat so he spent £1300 having the cylinder head replaced along with a new radiator, 2 thousand miles later the same problem has started again, he drives it for two miles & coolant starts boiling up in the header tank, he is reluctant to spend money having the head replaced again so the question is, is steel seal as good as it says on the can?

It is a temp fix for small leaks.
It is now being used as a fix before some people sell their vehicles.
Buyer beware.

had a customer bring some down who wanted to try it before he bit the head gasket bullet, and against everything i usually believe, i have to say it did actually work in this case, only ever seen/used it the once so not really a good comparison but i must say i was quite impressed that it did what it said on the label.

Their website states 'permanent fix', if it dont then reason for complaint (complying with their directions of course)

well my son took the plunge & bought a bottle of the magic potion along with fresh anti freeze total cost £45, spent most of yesterday warming up freelander then letting it cool again (3 times) then standing it overnight, result FAILED!
So it looks like another £1300 needs to be spent to put things right.

Surely after only 6 months and 2k miles the garage which did the head will take it back and re-do the work?

If I had spent £1300 I would expect it to last longer than that. Why not use someone like this guy:

or I'm sure I've seen another mechanic who travels around the UK only doing K series head gaskets - can't find link at the mo.

Looked at the website and there is no money back guarantee.(that I can see)
Just a bit about it working in normal operating conditions and if it does not work it is because another leak has occured and not a fault of the jungle juice.(In normal english)
