Bongo Fury

Does anyone know what size the nut is on the rear diff fill and drain? My socket set stops at 19mm and it's bigger than that! Are they imperial or metric ?

Hi,I think its 15/16" in old money,but make sure the level plug comes out before you drain it.

It will be metric, so make sure you don't do any damage with an AF/Whitworth socket.
Sorry, no idea of the size

dont know what size it is but a couple of things to note while your there.
the breather on the top should be checked,they are one way breathers,that means that when the oil gets hot and expands the air is forced out of the breather.as the oil cools it contracts and tries to suck back in through the breather,the breather is designed to stop this.so you will always have a vacuum in the diff,so when the plug is removed,as you should really warm things up first to let the oil flow out easily,you may feel/ hear the air suck into the diff as the pressure equalizes.
make sure you know which diff is fitted as limited slip diffs have different oil to standard diffs.both are fitted to bongos.

23mm for the re-fill nut, 24mm for the drain.

I suppose it would have been too easy to make them the same

It stops you putting them in the wrong way round
