Daffy2 - Portmeirion - April 8th - Confirmed!
Just putting out feelers at the moment but planning a weekend bash at a stunning location either February (as its free to get in before March 1st) or April (potentially better weather) here http://www.portmeirion-village.com/
Will be sorting a suitable local campsite in the next week or so but obviously need a rough idea of numbers in advance.

Bung us down for this one Chris - sound good to us. Stunning location as you said.
How about Shell Island as a campsite? Only 12 miles from Portmeirion. I know there's no booking (or hookups) but can't see it too busy that time of year.
Cheers
Andrew

LoopyLoo, of course you're welcome.
Looking for somewhere a little closer ideally but Shell Island could be an option, i know it well. Usually disregarded it though as tide times can make access tricky & its as busy as hell in high season so no guarantee of getting everyone in but - as you say - its likely to be quiet around then.
Some of the sheltered spots down in the dunes could well suit if the weather is rough & it saves a lot of faffing about collecting monies etc . . . .
One for the thinking pot at least.

Definitely up for this.
I think Shell Island is closed until March
But we're up for whatever arrangements are made

Theres a site we've stayed at a few times, its called Eisteddfa and its just outside of Criccieth so about 15mins from Portmeirion. I don't know how they are for groups though and whilst it has immense views from the top its a bit slopey on the main field. On the hook up bit its flat with a few hard standings and they are seperated into 'fields'..at that time of year they may let out say one whole section.
The last time we went we were on one of these fields closest to the top loo block, and with noone else there it was practically ensuite

Sounds great, fancy Portmeirion. Although not coming without hook up, not that brave.

Just noticed on the website that no dogs are allowed in Portmeirion, so you will have to count us out.

We wont actually be spending the weekend at Portmeirion, its just a day visit as the focal point of the bash. Don't count it out yet.
