Leisure battery - fridge issues

hi there, bit of a stupid, but necessary question!
The fridge only seems to work when we have an electric hookup attached even though we have the option of Van or Car battery on our power management system. Also the PMS charge indicator for the leisure.Van battery shows zero, but when you check the battery itself, it has a charge. The PMS shows a charge for the Car battery.
any ideas?
thanks again

There will be a fuse from the L/B going to the PMS unit, normally fitted close to the battery itself, probably 30Amp or so, if the battery at its terminals looks OK then the fuse would be the first place to look.

Have you checked the fuse in the electric panel? the fridge uses a fuse when on 12 volts and a mcb when on 240 volts? Do your lights work from the leisure battery? Has the 12volt connection to the fridge been connected correctly?

Most likely the fuse on the supply from the leisure battery. Usually an in line fuse near the positive terminal of the LB. If this is the problem it does beg the question of why it blew?

Earthing of LB also worth a look. If not...
Which PMS are you using? Many, eg Zig CF9, are designed with caravans in mind ie no connection to car battery when on site and converters can be quite creative in how they adapt the wiring to suit!
Let us know how you fare.
