Hello, left it optimistically late after having some problems starting: white smoke etc.
My car has defenitely given up starting this morning so I need to change the glow plugs I think. I have tried to look around but am going around in circles: is there a fact sheet on how to change the glow plugs ? I have only seen the engine ones so on a scale of 1-10 how easy is it to do this myself?
Thanks,
Hannelore

yes there is as i recall..assuming your a member
remove plastic consul
remove wiring loom bits come up from passenger side and gear lever ,hand brake, push both up out of the way, from the tin hatch
unbolt the hatch
remove the rail bar joining them
then you can get to the plugs
stick to ngk or like
and be aware whilst most use an 83mm plug
some do use a longer one

When you download the factsheet, it mentions putting blu tac inside the socket. Definatley a good move. Fiddly but not too bad

I've replaced mine twice now, made the mistake of buy cheapies first time, did'nt get a year out of them. NGK's fitted now a couple of years and no problems since.
Managed to change plugs without removing gear stick/hand brake or top plate. From memory it was a case of removing some vaccum hoses, and moving to the side the metal plate with the vaccum solenoids?

thanks all, i'll try it out tomorrow night! sounds pretty advanced for some one who bought lovely vehicle without knowing where the engine is!! My own fault though as i ran battery flat and have no way of starting it without new plugs, so cant even drive it to a garage!
