Quick Valve

Having just read a copy of Auto Express whilst getting the Bongo MOT'd, I noticed a product review for a valve that replaces the sump plug.

The "Quick Valve", replaces the sump plug and would make changing the Bongo oil very quick and easy, especially as I do mine twice a year. I think there is a version they do with a nipple on so you can attach a piece of hose so you could get the oil straight into a bottle.

More details can be seen here: http://www.quickvalve.co.uk/

Has anyone had any experience with one of these or something similar?

Nice idea.....a lot of us use the Pela pump or similar........to suck out the oil from the sump

shame it does not have a 90 degree bend

so it dumped the oil straight down, rather than sideways still

as thats the bit allways catches me out

Hi
Looks like 14 mm, and just "eyed" the thread with a cheap vernier..1.5...so it looks like we might be in with a chance, there!

I think it needs a shroud/cover over it that you would need a tool to undo, so people don't tamper with it

Hi
Read the Bumph...there's a clip to stop that happening ...so the next time you're in the bush in the DRC in your African bush travels in said Bongo...NO problem!... 8) 8) 8) ...no problems in the Tropic of Ruislip, though!
Cheers

helen you do,nt realise ,here in the wilds of east anglia, it can get fairly rough driving after some of the east anglian caddilac,s (tractors) have been along and droped great clods of mud/sugar beet/ onions/carrots etc etc,

i can imagine one of those getting nipped by a front tyre, and sent like a bullet ,straight to that valve , it could go in any of the other 359 degrees, but no it will go straight to that valve, thats for sure:lol:

Hi
I don't see a problem with the tap if you fit one of the accessory retainer clips, and the sump plug is pretty well shrouded by the under-tray...I would say it's not going to happen, losing oil, but who knows...We get some roads over here that take no prisoners...potholes big enough to almost lose a car...and no, I'm not kidding...I've seen a piccy of one nose-first, and disappeared to the front door handles!.....and as for stuff in the road...It's not unusual to find a hay-stack dumped in your road
