Just received today from a scrappy a motor, it looks different but I thought as there was only one motor for a 2.5 diesel I could'nt go wrong....well..... I did. :( I've emailed the scrappy to see where we go from here.

Unless you drive an old shape Fiat Panda... The spare used to go under the bonnet!

Brorabongo; I take it it wont fit into the fan case assembly??

Just a thought but you did specify that your vehicle is a Mazda Bongo FRIENDEE? The fan you have may be for a Bongo Brawny or even a b2000 van. Might be worth checking with your supplier.

Come to think of it...! It could possibly be the rear heater fan..??? http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html Though no picture can be found of the actual unit, i've had my hands in there & seem to remember the fan drum diameter a little smaller than the front fan... :-k

Yep, won't fit and the eyes for the screws don't match.

Is'nt the rear fan more cylindrical? I'm sure I seen a picture of one somewhere.

Hi Donald,

That's exactly what will happen, you will probably find that the rotation of the motors are different also.

Cheers... :)

The shiny motor is from a new shape heater system, the other is from an old shape and aren't interchangable.

It's from a Mazda Rx-7, and it is a denso part. It looks good to me.

Thanks to Heathrow Jap Spares, for the photos, and trying to get me sorted. =D>

RX-7 blower does not fit. Just a wee bit too small, by a few millimeters.

I made one good blower out of the two. Used the new one's armature, brushes and rear bearing, and the old one's top cover and blade. As can be seen the armatures were the same, but the brushes were slightly smaller on the new one.

bearing seized on old one.

draught excluder as a new seal.

Image
Air vent cut-out in the ducting where the rubber pipe from bottom of motor connects. Could this be why moisture gets into the bearing case?

Image
RX-7's (white one) blades in the opposite direction.

It now works well with no noise. \:D/

I think Jaylee has hit the nail on the head Donald. I am 99% sure that what you have there is a rear fan. When I replaced the rear heater matrix I had the whole unit from Bongobits (tank baffles, aircon unit, heater matrix and fan) I stripped the bits I wanted, and because the rest was much older than mine, and I could not guarantee the electical elements, I binned the rest #-o But I am sure that is the same as the rear fan unit, and if you look at the lush drawing the direction of the fins makes sense  That said i am surprised that the scrappie would take the trouble to take the whole rear unit apart, and not just sell the whole thing as BB did...
