Hello,

Is it possible/easy to take out my rear bench seat and replace with fold up seat (passenger side only). If so what work and parts would i need and where could i get them for a reasonable price. Would love to keep Freda but need boot space for German Sheperd and still need seat in rear for children.

Thanks John

Hi John,

You will need brackets 88-090 and 88-080.

The seat, you should be able to obtain from local converter, the one in Fife was trying to get rid of some a wee while back.

Cheers..

This has been discussed many times and it's not an easy job :( If I remember correctly, there are no mounting bolts for the lifting seat in the bench seat version and a new side interior moulding will be required. Have a search, I'm sure you'll find what you want :D

as stated its not that easy, the brackets previously mentioned bolt onto raised mounting points, if you have access to a scrap bongo these can be cut/drilled out and re-welded.

Take your front passenger seat out for the dog and get your Mrs to sit in the back.

OR turn the middle bench seat round to face the rear [a common mod' for Bongo's]. This will give you plenty of floor space for the dog and no loss of seating. 20 minutes work, cost? = zero! Image
