Just a possibility but my sliding door light was not working when I got my Bongo but this just required WD 40 on the door contacts (one had stuck), worth a try?

Sorted!
U shape bulb obtained from Alan Wilson & co. (02920224595) works a treat. The man in the shop ordered it specially as its a non stock item, next day it was waiting for me service like that deserves a mention. :D :D
