Windscreen washer problem

Post by Geggsie » Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:52 pm

I had to top this up today but find that the back one is working but not the front one. They both run from the same reservoir and there is not even a dribble from the front ones. Any ideas. Presumably they run off different motors. Are these easy to change/buy or do they run off different fuses in which case I can try that. As always thanks in advance for any advice

well i had the reverse, fronts worked but not the back. There are two motors and the only way i got mine to run even after picking at washer jet with needle was to un hook the water supply pipe (jet end) and run the water pump, once the line was cleared and free of any debris and pumping out water like a good'n i re connected and hey presto ran like a dream. I am assuming both washer motors can be heard running when you operate the stalk??

Other members have had this problem. Some have needed to replace the fuse (check if the front wipers are working), some had blocked pipes and some needed a new motor. See DBO's advice about fuses on THIS LINK and advice about motors on THIS LINK and THIS LINK which may help.
