Do diesel Bongo's have a catalytic converter

Just askin to save me getting the ramps out and having a look underneath.
Since fitting my stainless rear box i some times get a whiff of sulphur out of the zorst when she's cold any ideas ?

No Cat on a diesel Bongo, nearest thing would be the EGR setup

For compression-ignition (i.e., diesel) engines, the most commonly used catalytic converter is the diesel oxidation catalyst. This catalyst uses O2 (oxygen) in the exhaust gas stream to convert CO (carbon monoxide) to CO2 (carbon dioxide) and HC (hydrocarbons) to H2O (water) and CO2. These converters often operate at 90% efficiency, virtually eliminating diesel odor and helping to reduce visible particulates (soot). But they cannot reduce NOx because chemical reactions always occur in the simplest possible way, and the existing O2 in the exhaust gas stream would react first.
To reduce NOx on a compression ignition engine, the chemical composition of the exhaust must first be changed. Two main techniques are used: exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR). NOx trapping (with NOx absorbers) is a third method, but as of yet (2010), is not widely used.
Not much idea about the smell, unless its unburnt fuel . . .
You seem to be suffering the same cold start lumpiness as me & I certainly get a big whiff 1st thing in the morning.

Well you shouldn't unless you have got a supply of old style high sulphur diesel from somewhere as there is virtually no sulphur whatsoever in current forecourt diesel.
Have you been eating egg sandwiches .............

its the new addatives now in the modern fuels,they smell when they are not burning efficiently,when its in cold start mode and the engine is not up to the correct temps.

Some good replies there guys and as much as i love eggy peg sarnies i'm sure we can rule that one out
i run me bongo on shell fuel and the reply from mr N/B seems that there could be a lot of truth in his theory it could also be due to my 5 x 3 upswept stainless rear pipe now punting gasses into the air not down to the ground as with the standard system. I have put a bottle of comma diesel treatment in the tank today and been for a 40 mile drive so we'll just have to see how it goes

Well the sulphur smell is no more after adding the bottle of comma, but i have also been running on tesco diesel not shell so in the name of science i will splosh some shell in it this week and see if the issue returns

shell in the last few weeks have gone on to their winter diesel (depends on your local area supply) this has antifreeze adatives in it(stronger yellow colour)so all could change again!!!
.as others share the same base fuels,this may be seen in other brands also.
