Wilko's have

5w30 oil which describes it's self as "carlube R fully synthetic" made by tetrosyl.com for £7.99 for 4L

"Long life motor oil, suitable for the latest generation of petrol and diesel engines, on fixed and variable service intervals and requiring low SAPS/low ash engine oil. ACEA C3 API CF SM."

question is it suitable? for the bongo 2.5L turbo.

and given it's fully synthetic. What sort of distance between oil changes. I know it's 5000km but given it's a much better oil? then 1996 how much further between oil changes.

David.
thanks, for answering yet another oil question. [-o<

That's a good tip... I was considering swapping from 10/40 semi synth to a 5/30 full synth magnatec at the next service. I get my oil from costco and it's around £30 (ish) per 4 litres of the F/S magnatec oil. ( I try to keep uniform lubricants etc for my cars, i have to use a 5/30 full synth on my diesel car, so was going to try the bongo on the expensive stuff too) BIG difference between 8 quid a tub to 30 quid though! I can't see the carlube stuff being 22 quids worth worse than the magnatec somehow!

There's a lubricant's factsheet in the members area ON THIS LINK which may help you. And there's plenty of advice on the forum, a search found THIS LINK which may also help.
